Abstractions of the landscape through textile art and painting

Entre senderos y ríos, 2025
111 × 98 cm.
16 × 12 cm.

The project Sur l’Utopie undertakes a profound inquiry into the mountain as an ancestral symbol present across multiple artistic traditions and cultures, both Eastern and Western. Understood as an archetype of the collective unconscious, this figure embodies longing, refuge, and the unattainable, opening a space for reflection between the visible and the void.

Apuntes del paisaje is inspired by the travel postcard, reimagined in textiles. Rather than capturing a place through words or images, the fabric itself becomes a trace, an imprint, and a memory of the landscape.

Dyed with wildflowers and plants gathered from different places, each piece retains the imprint of its origin. The botanical pigments establish a connection between colour, material, and place, allowing every textile fragment to carry the quiet memory of the landscape from which it comes.

The embroidery emerges as a gesture of observation and evocation. Through thread, forms perceived in nature are translated into abstract compositions that do not seek to depict the landscape, but to suggest it. In this way, natural dyes and stitching inscribe the environment into the fabric. The landscape is not presented as a drawn image, but as a presence that can be remembered and experienced anew.

005 | No esperemos a Godot

No esperemos a Godot, 2024
22 x 16 cm. each

01. Como un río, inspired by The Second Elegy (The Druino Elegies) by Rainer Maria Rilke.

03. La vie, inspired by a quote from Arthur Rimbaud: Changer la vie.
